Teenagers Film Festival Guaranteed to Be Held in Hamedan
“Based on the agreements with the governor of Hamedan Province, Teenagers Film Festival will be held in Hamedan in October”,
AlirezaShojanouri, secretary of the 29th International Children and Teenagers Film Festival, said in Hamedan, “With the high interest that people, artists and officials (especially the governor of Hamedan) show in the event, and given the comprehensive support coming from the people and officials of all levels, it's been decided to divide the International Children and Teenagers Festival to one Children Festival, to be held in Isfahan, and one Teenagers Festival, to be hosted by Hamedan Province.”
Regarding the necessity of separating the film festivalsfor children and teenagers groups, he referredto the emphasis that the policy-makers of the festival put on holding the festival as one biannual teenagers festival in Hamedan and one biannual children festival in Isfahan.
He also talked about the importance of International Teenagers Film Festival and Teenage Film-Makers Competition as platforms for attracting more attention to teenagers' needs. “The golden butterfly of Children and Teenagers Film Festivals will be launched into the skies of Hamedan and Isfahan,” Shojanouri added, “with Hamedan promoted as 'The Teenagers City'”.
He also added that “the Isfahan's urban management is determined to bring more focus to the children at national, regional and global levels of festival planning”.
Shojanouri gave a favourable view of current infrastructure for holding the festivalin Hamedan: “I see a serious determination in Hamedan Province, which makes Hamedan a well-deserved site for the International Teenagers Film Festival. Improvements in infrastructure and provision of necessary finances will enable Hamedan to become a top teenager film festival in the world”.
“Dividing the festival makes the Iranian Teenagers happier and livelier,” AlirezaShojanouri added, “No doubt, the more active participation of Iranian teenagers in cultural scenes will make them appropriate models for teenagers of the world; just as Isfahan will be a cultural cradle for the children of Iran”.
Shojanouri concluded with congratulating the citizens of Hamedan Province for hosting such an event and inviting Hamedani movie-goers of all ages (especially teenagers) to the movie theatres of Hamedan.
